The Franz Bread Rest Hut, pictured above, overlooked the log flume ride at Pixieland, the amusement park built just outside Lincoln City in the late 1960s by Jerry Parks as a "fairy-tale story of Oregon." Dedicated by Gov. Tom McCall in 1969, Pixieland closed within four years of its opening. For the full Pixieland story, check out the information about it on pdxhistory.com (click here to go there).
